El cuadernillo en realidad contiene dos sermones, con un mismo tema o texto bíblico, que desarrolla en dichos sermones. El texto bíblico es: « Sint Lumbi vestri praecincti et lucernae ardentes in manibus vestris .» (Luc. 12, 35). El primer sermón se fija en la frase lucana «Sint lumbi vestri praecincti, y ocupa las hojas 1-4: el segundo sermón ocupa las hojas 5-8, y el testo lo prolonga: Sint lumbi vestri praecincti et lucernae ardentes, etc.
